Pork Steak In Basil And Chilli Sauce
Ingredients For Marinade:
400g Lean pork steaks
2 tbs Green pesto
1 tbs Fish sauce
1 tsp Sugar
1/2 Red chilli – chopped
1 pinch Salt
Ingredients for Basil And Chilli Sauce:
2 clove Garlic – chopped
1 tbs Fish sauce
1 tbs Oyster sauce
1 tsp Sugar
10 Basil leaves
1/2 Red chilli – chopped
1 Medium courgette – ribbon sliced.
140 gram Mushrooms of your choice (I prefer woodland mushrooms)
1 pinch Black or white pepper
2 tbs Coconut oil
1 tbs Butter
100ml Water
– Put the pork steaks in a resealable food bag and throw in the marinade ingredients. Rotate the bag around to make the seasoning cover the meat. Leave it in the fridge for at least 4 hours.
– Once ready to cook, put coconut oil in a medium to high heat pan and sear the pork steaks until nicely brown on each side.
– Transfer the steaks on a baking tray and put it in a pre-heated oven at 200 Celsius. It should take approx 10-12 minutes to cook.
– While we wait for the meat to be cook, use the same pan which you cooked the steaks (no wash up required). In goes the coconut oil on a medium heat pan, chopped garlic, chilli , fish sauce, sugar, oyster sauce, water and mushrooms (please put in this particular order).
– Once the sauce is boiled, add butter, pepper, basil leaves and courgette. Cook for another minute on a high heat.
– Stack the courgette, mushrooms and pork steak on a plate.
– Serve this Pork Steak In Chilli And Basil Sauce with Thai Jasmine rice and enjoy!
