1                                     Small egg

2 clove                          Garlic – finely chopped

2 tbs                             Rapeseed oil

2 tbs                             Tomato Ketchup

1 tbs                              Sugar

1 tbs                              Cornflour

1 tsp                              Sriracha sauce

1 tsp                              Oyster sauce

1 tsp                              Light soy sauce

1 tsp                              Ground black pepper

3/4 tsp                         Salt

1/2 tsp                         Ginger puree

200ml                         Water

10 leaf                         Coriander – finely chopped

Method

– Pre-heat the oven to 200 Celsius
– Mix the minced turkey, egg, salt, cornflour and a half teaspoon of ground black pepper in a mixing bowl. Then roll the mixture into golf sized balls and set aside.
-Put the rapeseed oil in a frying pan and gently fry the meatballs until they are golden brown in colour. Usually, it will take about 8-10 minutes.
-Transfer the meatballs on a baking tray and put it in the oven for approx 18 minutes. Do not wash the frying pan.
-Whilst waiting for the meatballs to cook. Put the same frying pan back on the hob, add onion and garlic. Gently fry it for 1 minute. Add another tablespoon of rapeseed oil if need be.
-Add the ketchup, oyster sauce, sugar, Sriracha sauce and ginger puree, gently stir for approx 1 minute. Add the water and bring it to a boil and simmer for approx 15-18 minutes. Stir occasionally.
-Once the meatballs are cooked put them in the sauce, garnish with chopped coriander. Enjoy Sweet and Sour Meatballs with fluffy cooked Thai Jasmine Rice.

Tips:

-Turkey Mince can be quite difficult to form a round shape. Don’t sweat over it! Put the shaped meatballs in the fridge for 1 hour/or prepare in advance before you fry them. Otherwise, just get the already made Turkey meatballs!

-Keep an eye on the Sweet and Sour sauce whilst cooking as it can get easily burnt.

-Don’t like coriander? You can also use curly leaf parsley instead.
