Teriyaki Salmon
Serve: 2
Ingredients:
2 fillet Salmon
160 milliliter Water
60 milliliter Dark soy sauce
5 teaspoon Demerara sugar
1 clove Garlic – finely chopped
1 teaspoon Mirin
1 teaspoon Vegetable oil
1/2 teaspoon Ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon Lemon juice
-Preheat the oven to 200 Celsius
-Gently fry the garlic in the oil in a small milk pan, til the garlic turns a slightly pale yellow colour.
-Add the water, soy sauce, mirin, demerara sugar and ginger powder, bring it to a boil. Stir until the sugar dissolves.
-Place the salmon fillets in an ovenproof dish. Pour half of the sauce onto the dish. Cover it with foil paper. Bake for approx 20-25 minutes.
-Put the rest of the sauce back on the hob. Gently boil until the sauce thickens.
-Once the is salmon cooked. Remove it from the oven, drizzle some more sauce and a squeeze of lemon juice, serve immediately with your choice of rice and vegetables.
Tip:
-Make sure you keep an eye on the sauce while cooking as it is easily burnt. Add a little water if need be.
